Community Orchard Planning Meeting this Sunday

From Aviva Fuhrman at Community Harvest of Southwest Seattle

Does the idea of a Community Orchard intrigue you? Can you imagine a park planted with berries, kiwi’s and apple varieties which thrive in our climate? Perhaps native edibles as well? A neighborhood gathering place maintained (and harvested!) by volunteers, with classes in fruit tree care and canning? Would you like to be part of creating a plan for this to propose to the city? We are just getting started on this – and could use your input. Come to a planning meeting this Sunday, from 12-1 at Duwamish Cohousing (6000 17th SW 98106) – and share your ideas. This will be our second meeting – so we’ll be moving forward into some action steps. If you can’t make it, but would like to be involved, let me know.
