Barbara is one of the artists living in the housing at the Youngstown Cultural Arts Center.  See some of her work at Circa in the Admiral District and consider joining this class:

August 23 & 24 (Sat/Sun): 10-5 PM (includes a one-hour lunch break)
Class Fee $210
Youngstown Cultural Arts Center:  4408 Delridge Way SW, Seattle 98106 (West Seattle)

Draw the figure with great expression, bold marks, exciting textures, and dynamic energy.  This weekend workshop steps you through an approach to drawing from the live model that aims to capture their movement, vitality, structure of Form, and character of each pose. The speed of  Gesture poses and our mark-making expands our use of line to tell more with less, to make each mark meaningful, and explore many different types of marks.
In the spirit of Gesture Drawing, we will study issues of Line, Contour, Space, Light and Shadow.
We will draw in charcoal, ink wash and soft pastel—working in black and white as well as color.
All levels welcomed.
