West Seattle Trails map now available!

From Seth Schromen-Wawrin at Feet First

Feet First has recently published the West Seattle Trails map. This free community resource displays a network of walking trails that connect destinations throughout West Seattle. The map is the product of several years of community input.

Originating with the Dells and Ridges project, community members have been working to define a network of trails that connect the assets of West Seattle. These trails are made up of dirt and paved paths, sidewalks, and staircases.

The West Seattle Trails Alliance has taken on the project of developing wayfinding for these trails. This summer, a pilot wayfinding kiosk is being constructed by Delridge Neighborhood Development Association at the corner of Delridge and Brandon. Over the next year the Southwest District will install 10 more kiosks and 60 trail signs, pending funding from Department of Neighborhoods.

We will be distributing maps to the Delridge councils at the next district meeting. In the mean time, you can find the map at the Delridge Library, the Delridge Neighborhood Service Center, DNDA, and South Seattle Community College. They are also available at libraries, community centers, health centers, and businesses throughout West Seattle.

If you have trouble finding the map or have questions, give me a call at 652-2310

This project has been assisted by Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, National Parks Service, Delridge Neighborhood Development Association, and many other community members.
